I have been writing music for over a decade. I was in several garage bands and had actually done quiet a bit of studio time with these bands and we put on our own shows. Our music consisted mostly of original songs written by me and my bandmates. However, not until the last three years did I actually get into Classical Music. To be honest I was not interested in Classical Music until my arrival at Florida Southern College. It seems to be an acquired taste and easy to acquire at that. There is actually very little different between Popular Music and Classical Music in my eyes.
Thus far I have written several pieces and have had them performed and recorded. My pieces contain instruments ranging from the flute to the piano and everything in between. There also seems to be an affinity for the piano throughout my music. The variety of styles, articulations and the combination of chords that can be played is unsurpassed by any single instrument. Only the Guitar comes close aside from other keyboards.
I’ve been dreaming of writing an Opera for some time. This is a project that is going to take me years to complete but there will be updates on its progression frequently. Readers will be able to view the process from the beginning. Posts will start soon on the story line itself then for each additional act added. After that, Midis of the music will be posted and continue until the premiere performance of the piece.I hope you all enjoy my music. I love hearing feedback whether it’s positive or negative. Either way it’s constructive. After listening to the same piece so many times while writing it an outsiders view is much appreciated.
